Uh, hey. I'm patched up to 3.3.5a (12340) and set my realmlist to the conquest of the horde and everything. Every time I try to log into the account I made in Account Management, it tries to patch to 4.0.0. Not sure what I'm doing that's making the game try to patch itself to Cataclysm.

1. Are you running it from WoW.exe ? It is very important not to run the Launcher.exe
2. Did you do a search on your WoW folder to make sure there is no second realmlist file? If not, do it and make sure all realmlist files are changed.
3. Double check the realmlist to make sure it is properly set for CotH.

I created a shortcut to WoW.exe and renamed my launcher, as one guide suggested.
There are no other realmlist files anywhere on my computer
I just checked again and the realmlist file is set for CotH.

Try cleaning your Cache folder. If this doesn't work... post the content of your realmlist here, so we can take a look at it.

By cache do you mean the WDB folder? I'll try that again.
What my realmlist.WTF file says:
Quote:set realmlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com
set patchlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com
set realmlistbn ""
set portal us

No, I mean the Cache folder.
And try removing the last two lines from the realmlist... if that doesn't work, there is a
realmlist file in the Downloads section.

Replacing the realmlist worked. Thank you.

All right, so I got on Coth, and managed to play successfully on it for a few days, and now, whenever I attempt to login, it simply says 'unable to connect'. I thought at first it may have just been an internet connection problem, but it's been two days and my internet runs smoothly on everything else, yet it still refuses to connect to Coth. Is there something I did wrong in terms of connection?

If you have played with no problems before, then it should be okay.
Have you played on any other servers the past few days? If so, double check your realmlist.

I can't say I have connected to another server in the past few days. I double checked my realmlist, and it's set correctly. It is still refusing to connect, however. Is it possible that I made a mistake in connecting, or is something wrong with my World of Warcraft file?

If you have been messing around with your WoW files, it is very likely... I suggest a Repair if that's the case.

How in the hell do you manually patch WoW?

You download the patches from a
site and then simply run them.
Alternatively in the download section you can find a fully patched WoW folder. You will however need to change your realmlist using that method.

I'm just brand new to this server, and I seem to have trouble connecting. When I attempt to connect, it gets stuck on "handshaking."

- Make sure you have the proper patch (3.3.5a, Build 12340).
- Make sure the realmlist is set correctly (correct example below):
set realmlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com
set patchlist logon.conquestofthehorde.com
- Try cleaning your Cache.
- If problem persists, post again.
