Your best bet might be Argent Dawn. I'm not sure if its very active... seen a character or two bearing the title. Keep an eye out for them ingame.

Yup. I'm not sure why there is a guild still for Argent Dawn but there is. I wouldn't know who to talk to about it though. I've been focusing most of my attention towards the scourge attack.

But why can't a 45 year old paladin who was in the original Silver Hand become a member of the Argent Crusade? That is what I am trying to understand....

The Argent Dawn is still an organization, the Argent Crusade is just a portion of it made up of their -best-.
