Welp, I seem to have a problem. Whilst I know how to figure it out, I simply... can' do it. My problem is that I can't log into WoW without it forcing me to update to 3.1.0. I haven't patched up yet though. So I was told that if you want into the Launcher and clicked Options then did some messing around, it should fix it. However I can only get to this stage...

Before it starts downloading the patch!
I'm simply not too fast enough!
So if anyone can tell me how to fix this without being enraged after each time I get so close to clicking the option it starts downloading, I would love you FOREVER AND EVER.

There's a file in your WoW folder (I think it's named WoW.exe) that opens WoW directly instead of doing it via the launcher. Hopefully that'll solve your problem

Sadly, whenever I try doing that aswell, by the time I get to the character selection screen it already starts downloading. Heck, it started at 75%! O_o

If you can manage to get to the login screen, turn off your launcher! I did it before the patch to make sure I didn't get this. It happened once way back in the day and kept me out of game for -way- too long, so yeah. The WoW.exe should work though.. always worked for me. But yeah.. sorry. :/

Sure thing!
- Well, first I used WoW.exe to get onto the login screen.
- Then (thanks to the help of CoTHers) I unchecked 'Show Launcher' at the bottom left corner.
- Closed down WoW completely
- Afterwards I set my realmlist to:
set realmlist coth.game-host.org
set patchlist coth.game-host.org
- Then I just logged in normally.
