It was an interesting event! Though for the next time, I suggest the following:
Instead of trying to silence all the chat channels just for an event, instead consider simply leaving yourself if you don't want to see them during the event. People shouting "Shush, event going on!" at new people might not seem all that offensive, but if you join a server as a new player, join the chat and say hi, only to get a basic "Shut up" thrown at you, the odds that your first impression will be good aren't all that high.
It'd be far better to simply leave the channels yourself if you don't want to see them, rather than artificially trying to make the entire server, even the people not involved in the event, go quiet.

It's not just that, Theik. People were out there commenting in say as well. I don't know why it's so hard to follow simple instructions: one of which is to not talk and to wait your turn. It's sad to say, but truthful that my eight grade math class does the same.
Sure, whispering is fine. I was whispering through, but the other times I didn't disrupt them or throw in my comments. Many of us REMINDED you to stop talking, but most of you didn't exactly get it. I'm just very dissapointed by this, guys. Next time, lets try to be more quiet before we take out the word 'respect'.
Also, remember that we're all a community and we're all friends, even if we disagree on a few of our thoughts and even if you're brand new to the server.
Edit: Also, on the picture with the gnomes, yes, Tenissa is sitting in Kretols lap.

Too bad it all went haywire at the end. Not that I don't appreciate a bit of fun but I wanted to gather the new players around for a small talk because this is the first time I hear of new players looking for roleplay and nobody invites them.
I always did and have been more than nice with them so I'm thinking I could gather some of you another day somewhere on a mini ooc event and talk to you about my experience here? I've been in your position as well, from the day I got my introduction approved to the day I became a grunt I think I spent two months playing and/or roleplaying.
I might have some pointers about what I did wrong and what you can learn from it in order to make your life much more easier. And I would also like to discuss a possible event as well.
So if you guys would like this then I'll create a new thread and do the proper arrangements.
That being said, congratulations to all who took part in making this possible. Cressy, you have my respect and also the GM's that assisted. And I haven't forgotten about you guys either, players who were there. Congrats on the semi-acceptable behaviour.

I like the closeup of Mansfield's face. It's pretty epic.
I had fun.
