The thread title is simple. The concept that is presented? Not so much.
Orcs and Humans have been involved with one another ever since the Dark Portal was opened. There have been multiple events throughout the lore, both good and bad that accentuate the complex relationship between the two races. On one hand, there's the Orc clans with the Blood Curse and former involvement with the Legion, and everything that went along with such. On the other, there's the Human kingdoms and the internment camps; where Orcs were routinely defecated on, shamed, and even killed in some cases.
The modern Horde, founded by Thrall would either be completely different, or non-existent if not for Human involvement. There are many variables to consider with this. Though let's not stray off topic. Blackmoore found Thrall as an infant, and used him for his own gain. Thrall was treated with some form of kindness however; by Taretha Foxton. It's well known that Taretha Foxton viewed Thrall as a younger brother, rather than a monster. She would keep up with him for years to come until she was beheaded. Jaina chose the Horde's survival over her own father, and both races fought together at the battle of Mount Hyjal.
In the second Warcraft role-playing game, an Orc leads the Royal Photographic Society of Azeroth and swears allegiance to the crown of Stormwind. The RPG even claims that many Orcs were raised by Humans while some were still in the internment camps. This could lead one to believe that it was possible for Humans to adopt children from the internment camps. Though it seems more likely if they were noble and had more privileges. Granted, most if not all of the RPG has little to no meaning in canon anymore. It's possible Thrall wouldn't be the only Orc who would have been 'adopted' at an early age; though he most certainly is the most notable of individuals who went through this.

Peaceful Orcish involvement with Humans or Human children, adoption of said children... Doesn't see that many mentions; not even in the RPG. Varian Wrynn sees a similar story to Thrall; placed in the Crimson Ring, he fights his way to freedom, finds his identity, defeats Onyxia, yada yada, he's back to leading Stormwind. I myself am not too sure that the Crimson Ring is as big of a venture now as it was in Varian's story. Most locations in-game are much larger, and it's possible that the Crimson Ring had more than just one Human gladiator. Northwatch is a very close fortification, and it's likely that what deserters there were would be nabbed by Horde forces; such as what happened with Griswold Hanniston.
Really, there are many things we need to consider in all of these things. I highly doubt that if these slim, if indeed not non-existent minorities would be frowned on in the respective cultures they've found themselves in. There's a possibility for traitors, sure--and I'm sure that these special profile characters (If anyone dared to make one.) Would be denied. Though what about NPCS? Would they exist at all, or are Thrall and Varian the only cases? Would some even be able to fight for their freedom? What of adoption?
Post your thoughts, please! I think this needs to be cleared up.
