Alright, I downloaded Trojan Killer, but it won't let me remove anything unless I buy it. No way I'm spending fourty bucks.
Now what? It's found four files.

If it lists the infected files you can seek them out manually and remove them. You will still need to check your running processes for suspicious activities to prevent the trojan from reworking itself into your system. Again I advise seeking assistance from experts as adverse to running less than reputable virus software.

Here's me not reading Mezrin's Skype description until after clicking any files... And now begins the Battle for My Computer. Good luck to anyone else needing to get it off, I seem to be good bunkering down in safe mode for now!

If you want to be abselutely sure you've cleaned it all, I'd recommend disconnecting from the internet while you clean your systems.
Surprisingly, I am not infected! Yay now I can carry on with my normal routine. If anyone is still having problems with the virus, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Huh, finally decided to download Skype, about to create an account when suddenly I see this thread... Can't be bothered now.
Helpful tip, don't know what that process is? http://www.processlibrary.com/ Good luck to those who may have been infected.
The worlds a roller coaster,
And I am not strapped in, Maybe I should hold with care, But my hands are busy in the air. Like Father, Like Son. The path of a Beastmaster.
Another tip, be wary of processes that don't have a "User" associated with them. This isn't always something malicious, but more often than not if you have processes running like that it means -you- didn't start them, and that they aren't an essential system process, which suggests it's something that's started on it's own.
As Immy has stated, check the file location before you kill the task, to make sure you know where it is in case you need to remove it. Another good thing to do is to run it in safe mode. This stops all potentially malicious programs from running, and you can also start up your anti-virus yourself. If you need internet connection, there's an option to do safemode with networking. ![]() △Move along.△ △ △△ △△△ △△△△

The fifteen-day trial period is just the evaluation. Granted, I'm near a hundred percent certain every other virus thing I've run has kept me safe.

Trojankiller is a pain because it doesn't clear without paying, but it does give you the file direction. Don't give up if it says file not found, sometimes the files are hiding and you have to type in all of the input needed. Pay attention to the Trojan most of all, find it, and kill it.

Try avast. For a free program, it does damn good at killin' virus programs. It's a little harder to get things like rootkits, but Trojans it doesn't have a problem with.
It's a good preventative measure too. Just make sure that you only have ONE antivirus at a time. Jeebus there are just so many people that think "the more the better", but in reality you'd have one anti-virus constantly checking the other, instead of the processes being spent in better places. ![]() △Move along.△ △ △△ △△△ △△△△

I think Mac users should be fine... When I opened the EXE, since I was one of the first to open the message from Mez I think, all I got was a bunch of code in TextEdit. I haven't been sending any messages to anyone either, so I don't -think- I'm infected.

With macs, even if it doesn't look like you are, you can still spread it, so try and be careful.
However, my mac knowledge is limited to pretty much just that right there. ![]() △Move along.△ △ △△ △△△ △△△△
