Honestly, the thing that will stop most people from doing this is that it seems overly complicated. If this is the way you want to do things, and want to see it incorporated, the way the rules are set up is that the people doing the actual fight both have to agree on a method of fighting, whether it's PvP, roll fighting, or Trust. Yours relies on a sort of PvP trust hybrid, so if you can get others to go with it, then that's great.
However, you can't force it on people. A lot of people don't seem fond of this idea, so if they don't wish to do it, it shouldn't be forced on them. I will say it's interesting, but I don't think it should become a standard or rule, nor do I think that for -any- of our fighting systems.

I've used in game duels for RP combat before. It's rare, but fun to break up the pace.
... granted, they were FOAM SWORD DUELS with Clovis and Cristovao, but yeah.

I wonder what ever happened to the crazy GHI system that was set up some time ago (~2-3 years. >.>) with the cards and the rolls sort of like a RPG. Folks had character sheets and everything.

Which one?

Fair enough, most cases Trust is enough, Roll if otherwise.

It was Duskwolf's idea. Mine is simple for the most part - I do all the math, all I ask is of simple /roll 50 from players. I handle the rest.
No character sheet, just your choices and your team against the vile enemies set before you...
His was pseudo-d20 mod through GHI with scores for each weapon, etc. It was many times more complicated.
