Now that we've moved back to Silverpine, this would be great.
The gnolls get a tad annoying.

Quote:. . . So basically, I'm requesting that a phased version of Fenris Isle be added to the RP Locations list on the OOC Portal. It's an incredibly atmospheric location that can pass for being anywhere in Silverpine, Tirisfal, the Plaguelands or even Duskwood, so long as you ignore the fact that it's on an island in the middle of Lordamere Lake (a la the manor on GM Island). The Harvest to one side for a moment, I still think this would be an amazing general-purpose RP location.

I approve of this. GIVE US FENRIS BACK. *raises protest signs*

With the advent of phasing and better spawneable objects, I think the only problem I can see with this idea is "Do We Need It?"
After all, we have the Catacombs, Hearthglenn, Caer Darrow...All already outfitted for the player's use and enjoyment. What would Fenris bring to the table that's not already on the OOC Portal? ![]()

Just empty. ![]() ![]() To answer Rosencrat: It would bring a solitary fort with it's own blacksmith and stables, and it's own walls. Caer Darrow is more of a.. castle, not a fort. This is smaller scaled and doesn't have the Argent Crusade lingering about. Also, it's in Silverpine! Different atmosphere than Plaguelands. =) (07-09-2012, 01:51 PM)muhaha8 Wrote: ... Caer Darrow is gussied up? Since when? It's available as an RP spot if you use the portal to access Scholomance, I know that much. But excellent question, Rose. Your asking it prompted a large discussion in the Harvest's Skype as to whether anyone would actually need the keep as an RP location. But allow me to quote what JVNemesis succinctly said: JVNemesis, Font Of All Wisdom Wrote:I think we can rule out Hearthglen out of hand. They're all similar to Fenris in a few ways, but the Keep is significantly different from each of them. As far as RP locations go, you can't really get away with using Hearthglen as anything but Hearthglen, such is the extent of its custom furnishing and spawning. The Catacombs, similarly, have become a settlement unto themselves, definably in Deadwind Pass and definably inhabited by a select population. Although there's some cool lower dungeons on the bottom levels, it remains fundamentally a crypt, and not a fortress. While it might lend itself to similar sorts of characters as those I suggested in the first post, the different environ is key here, as it projects an entirely different mood. Caer Darrow is superb, don't get me wrong, but it's far too ruined to ever be portrayed as a functional fortress. It's also far too big, and the faded greens of Silverpine offer a locale that's more open to interpretation than the corrupted, rusty browns of the Western Plaguelands, which tend to establish pretty decisively that yes, this is the Plaguelands. As Lendri says, it's more of a sprawling castle-town than a fort, and indeed, due to it having literally fallen in on itself, the keep itself has seen little use in RP. (Another option I thought of that you didn't mention is Zeramas, to which I would have said: really, how many dead people and dark, shady types can actually lay claim to owning a necropolis?) Fenris Keep's just such a cool and atmospheric location unto itself. It has the appearance of being derelict and abandoned, but apart from a breach in the wall that speaks evocatively of some broken siege in days gone by, it has every appearance of being a working fortification, and that's incredibly cool. I could make a similar argument for a phased Westbrook Garrison, but I think humans have enough RP locations, whereas Forsaken and DKs have comparatively very few. tl;dr NEEDS MORE FORTS.
