Automatic Server Restarts

Seeing that there is a new trend with this problem of crashing and being unable to reconnect, I propose a solution:

Every hour, on the hour, the server will automatically restart itself. If it fails, it will attempt again. If it fails again, it will put up the server and retry again. I saw this done elsewhere on a different server. This makes it so that if the server is down, it gets put back up- and if people are experiencing problems, the server restarts every hour.

Before people complain that this will be inconvenient, I think that this is a very small sacrifice for a near-guarantee that if there is a problem with the server that Kret can't get to, it will still be fixed. That way, while Kret sleeps- the server will still be refreshing itself. The total "inconvenience" that this would be is:

-60 or so seconds where the server announces it will restart.
-The actual restart, a minute.
-Logging back on.

That's no more than 3 minutes an hour to keep the server running smooth.

This can also help you keep track of the time.

Anyway, automatic restarts every hour would be the height of annoyance, and I'd really like to not see something that drastic implemented. Hopefully with the latest server revision we won't need to worry about the "subtle crashes" anymore. We'll see how things work out.

This is a suggestions forum. No need to display such hostility to the suggestion that I have given.

Perhaps it could be done to restart every two hours, then? Possibly only restart in the bottom-times when you/Kret aren't online at all?

Hopefully with the latest server revision we won't need to worry about the "subtle crashes" anymore. We'll see how things work out.
