Greetings COTH, Clovis here. I've been in the background for a while, unable to dedicate large chunks of time to COTH to DM events like I used to. If you've ever been in a Frostbrand event, you recall me having to DM groups as large as 18 to 25 people. Not fun.
Recently I've been struggling to find a way back into the DMing scene here on COTH, in order to help alleviate the boredom some people may be experiencing. Sadly, with life as it is, I can't really nail down 3-4 hours of distraction-less rp time.
Right now I've been meaning to keep my mind distracted from RL, and this is as good a start as any.
Step 1:
You are a roleplayer, a member of CotH, and thus, you are l33t. Lately you've been bored sitting around in the tavern and want to go out and do something with your friends, or just want a small event for yourself personally to help develop your character in a minor way.
However, many of the events currently going down on the server aren't 'up this characters alley'. You have your own ideas, but they're too small to really garner attention, or you're simply not interested in DMing it yourself.
This is where I come in.
Step 2:
For the time being, I will be offering to DM small, 1-5 player events for people. Now, this can work several ways. You either...
A: Have an event all planned out, and know exactly how everything goes.
B: Have a story or idea you want to play out, and don't care if someone else does it for you and takes some artistic license with it.
C: Just want something random to happen to you or your friends, and don't care how random it is!
I can help with that.
If you are interested in any of the above scenarios PM me with the following:
PM Title: Event Request (Include here the amount of people involved. Either Personal, or 2-5 players.)
Players: (This is where you will list the names of the Player Characters involved in the event)
Faction: ( Alliance, Horde, Neutral Organization )
System: ( Trust, /roll 100, /roll 50, Custom, D&D, Ect.) ( If the system is custom or D&D, I will need to be provided details on how it works. My only experience with D&D stuff is from Baldurs Gate 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2. That's it. I've never played any D&D irl. )
Reason: ( Character Development, Storyline Progression, Humor/Boredom/Miscellaneous )
Once you have listed the reason, follow one of the following formats.
Character Development
Story Progression
Humor/Boredom/Miscellaneous
Step 4: Profit
I will be choosing to hold these events at my discretion. Just because you send me a request does not mean I will accept to do it. There is no queue, and there is no order or fairness. So please understand that getting your event done is more of a lottery than anything.
That being said, any event that you already planned out the details for will usually take priority over ideas or randoms. If I cannot hold it for you, I will let you know if I give your event 'GM Approval' or not, so you may be free to hold it yourself, or have a friend do it.
And you may ask why I'm offering to do this. Again, my reason is pretty simple - It just seems like a fun way to give back to the community on a personal level.
Please direct any questions you may have here. Also, if you feel the formats I listed are missing any important details, please let me know so I may update them.
EDIT: Note - This is open to Peons and Grunts alike.
