Quote:As some are aware, Patch 4.0.1 is being released on retail servers on Tuesday, 10/12.
DO NOT PATCH.
Oops.
WEELLL! I have an excuse, because you see, I started up WoW and then went to use the bathroom, and then make me some ramen, and then when I came back with a piping hot bowl of yummy noodles, I found out that my WoW seemed to have auto-patched, or something like that, because now I can't access the server. It was an unhappy meal.
Any way to de-patch?
I'm sure the answer to that question will come with a "You nub!" attached to it. Sowwy.

I don't think you can downpatch from 4.0.1 without reinstalling. So I've heard.

I highly doubt that Scout, maybe after the pre-cata patch, but this one I think can be easily deleted.
PC: if you have a PC you want to go to your data folder and delete "Patch 2" and "Patch" documents. You then want to run the repair (it'll ask if you want to repair despite the game being broken, click yes.) Let it repair, then patch back up manually using patch mirrors on <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.wowpedia.org]www.wowpedia.org</a><!-- w -->
Mac: NO. IDEA.
The PC method should work, however I could be wrong, seeing as that worked for me, but the last time I downgraded WoW was 8 months ago. Could've changed.

If it patched up, I'm afraid there's nothing known, currently, short of reinstalling and manually patching up.

Alright, I'll try and do what Tarne told me to do tomorrow night, because I am thankful to be in the situation of playing on a PC. If that doesn't work then I'll take the re-installation route.
I'll do this tomorrow night. It's past my bedtime. Anyways, thanks peeps.

I THINK you MAY be able to use windows restore to back up your computer 24 hours to undo a patch that way. MAYBE
