But, some classes vanished?
Like Battlemagi / Warmagi, for example. Where does that one come in?
Some classes were nixed as they were old classes in the 1st edition of the d20 rather the 2nd. Many classes just didn't make sense anymore. Unfortunately, this means certain classes (such as Graven One) were also removed, but I think the removals are overall mostly putting our system more in line to WoW lore.
Also, while I'm writing this, going to note the changes I made to the first post, concerning Runemasters, Inscribers, and Necromancers. Take that in mind.
So could I technically take the Necromancer prestige, but have some Graven One qualities?
And do "Epic" prestige classes exist? Such as Epic Necromancer, Epic Druid of the Wild, Epic elven ranger, Epic marksman, Epic paladin warrior, Epic priest, Epic healer, Epic runemaster, Epic scout, Epic tinker? (all the epic classes I know of.)
And...one thing I'm curious of because I was going to make my character a Graven One, why exactly was Graven one removed? ('twas one of my favorites)
Jeff Wrote:On the contrary, Elven Rangers can actually tlak with plants and animals, and speak with the spirits of nature as well as being adept archers.
Can't they also ask for nature's help? I.e. ask an animal to help them in a fight/ask a tree to trip their foe and the like?

Graven One was removed because it, simply put, doesn't exist. Graven One only existed as a 1st edition Warcraft RPG prestige class, but was not returned in the 2nd edition for reasons only the book makers know. So no, Graven One isn't something that should be considered at all. Pretend it never existed.
And no, no "epic" classes. That should go without saying. They, too, are a remnant of the 1st edition and make no sense at all with the new one.

Alright, I'm no expert about it and I did think that Graven One was rather out of place, but that was part of its intrigue. So from what I understand here, to become I necromancer I simply tell you I wish for Astus to become a necromancer and go through some IC training? My guild has been researching undeath so I'm not quite sure what I need to do.

I do not actually think they can manipulate nature, or force anything to move, but they can tell the "emotion and history" of the plants they walk on, supposebly. I am also a little unsure if we include the RPG spells or not, but in there, their arrows can "cleave" if that makes sense. Both a lore and RPG ability of rangers is to be able to cross any non-magical landscape without being hampered at all. But to be honest, I'm not going to complain if it is left open to all grunts without application. It'll just make it easier to play one, after all.

Oops, two of my characters already have catagory I titles. I didn't even realize, I considered them flavour pieces of history...
Looking forward to reading some training posts.

Good work on getting the system back up.
I will go for the Dragonsworn prestige in the near future, a true challenge!

Question, with the disappearance of the Tinker prestige, does this mean it is no longer a title which one can take up and simply means we can advance our characters in that direction of skill?
Edit: Oh, and another question. With certain classes that give certain physical changes which are very noticeable (Eg, Bone Crusher in height and Dark Ranger with undeath) would you be willing to dish out these changes to the in-game model as well? The increased height wouldn't be hard to implement, I understand, but with a Dark Ranger would they be able to gain a new model with the system which was being talked about some time ago (If it is even possibly ready to be used)?

Interesting post, still doesn't convince me to start working towards a prestige, but that's me personally not seeing how it enriches my experience. The only exception perhaps would have been for Saraya (Who's currently not in any position to try regardless) with the Assassin category, which sadly remained a second category prestige title. Thus, I lost interest. ^.^
Good to see a decision was finally made, over all interesting post and time will tell how it eventually will all balance out. Good luck to the people heading for prestiges.

I thought Dark Rangers were Forsaken trained by the Dark Lady? I'm fairly certain -all- Dark Rangers are already undead, because the only real way to receive training is to be a member of the Forsaken.

Dark Rangers are Undead High Elven Rangers who were turned into Banshees and then regained their body. This prestige class isn't something a living can learn and it would most likely be something they'd need to start out in being.

Well, there's not really any need for a model change in that case. The character would already be undead.

Bounty: Tinker is not a prestige. It was considered a base class in the D20, and if anything tinker's to me is just a profession and another term for "engineer."

Seems to me the prestige of "Farseer" has been removed?
