I don't see why it couldn't, but you'd need to have more than one runesword in order to use it. (That is, one runesword to wield and one to fly around and hit things).

I always used this back in the day. When I did it would always divide my DK's attention because he's focusing on two things at once and his reaction times would get slower. I just think it'd be way too OP to have two weapons, one flying, and be able to fight like nothing's different.
