I noticed while out and about doing quests, that it takes a -Lot- of mobs before one actually has what I need. Is this just me, or is there an epic reduction in the chances of getting a quest item out of them? If there is anything that can be done about that, -Please- can it be looked into? because it does get really boring when gathering items that takes 20 kills to get.
Also, Am I the only one who has noticed that?

Nope, you aren't the first who noticed it. I myself have found quest items to have drastically lowered as well. Normally it even gave several quest items at once on here, nowadays you are lucky when you get 1 every 7 kills or so.
I can't give a quest straight out of my head, or maybe I can.. It involves boar tusks or something like that.. If I remember what it is I'll link it here.

That's always annoyed me about WoW....They tell you to get 5 murloc heads..but you gotta kill 20 murlocs to get those heads, when clearly each of those murlocs has a head...Or they want 8 troll ears, and you have to kill 40 trolls to get 8 ears, when each of those trolls has two ears. DOT DOT DOT.

In Elwynn seems everything normal so far actually. Defias thugs here drop around 2 burlap bandanna's each time. Perhaps it's different per region? Which one are you talking about, any in particular or?..
Maybe it's just a zone instead of the entire server.

One quest I was working on involved gathering these collars from a group of cultists. I revisited the cave they were hiding in almost half a dozen times and only found one collar.
The drop rates ARE flim-flammed. It should not be this difficult to collect 10 bear asses.

Old internet habits are hard to unlearn.
:<
Not used to profanity being censored. It's simply an arbitrary collection of vocal utterings that we have labeled as profane, and if syllables put in a certain order is powerful enough to offend someone, they deserve to be offended. A hundred years ago, balderdash was just as profane as bullsh!t. Bollocks, in England, is incredibly profane, but utterly meaningless here in the US.
That's not to say I have no respect for the established rules. I just have issues with sidestepping certain behaviors because of the delicate tastes of other people, especially in a consequence-free environment like the internet.
So, I apologize for violating the rules, arbitrary and meaningless as they may be.

The issue is that a lot of database teams parse drop rates from sources like Wowhead. Unfortunately, the drop rate for quest items take into account all the drops of people that -aren't- on the quest, so therefore something that should have something like a 50% drop rate probably has like a 8.4% rate.
