My torrent just finished downloading and I tried to open the WoW.exe application. It would take about a minute to actually give me a critical error message, and continues to do that. Also, I can already see that there are not enough files in the WoW folder like there should be.

I had this same exact error for 2 months until I finally got in on CotH in Wrath. Which torrent did you pick? The 4 part archive or all-in-one?

All in one.

Ah. I noticed that in the all-in-one there's various files missing from the WTF and Data, like sound, log-in screen, and etc. There's also 'special files' that run as soon as you launch it, and when you set your realmlist with that all-in-one it messes with the special files because it's for a different private server.
TL;DR The all-in-one has a lot of things wrong with it. I suggest downloading the 4 part archive and try that. It worked for me the first time.

thanks, i'll try that. they should take down the all-in-one download until it's bug-free.
