Probably best to wait until further word from Kret before you go rushing off to download Cata, guys. This might be a while coming yet, and we're not yet clear on the specifics of the upgrade. :P

Just as an idea, before we switched from BC to Wrath, the gms tested it for a month. It might happen again.

There'll probably have to be a restart. Especially if Kretol plans on using Skyfire (which I'd assume he will considering it's 4.0.6)... I'm pretty sure their character databases are different, not to mention all the changes.

There will not be a lore restart unless people want to retcon things, but no one has to if they don't want too.

Characters will have to be remade, however.

I don't imagine it'll be necessary. Cataclysm servers have been out and stable for a long time, and I don't see Kretol posting something like this unless he was pretty certain about it already. Naturally, I could be wrong about the last bit, but mer.

There will indeed likely be a period where the staff is on and rebuilding or the like about the server. I wouldn't anticipate a month, however.

The heavens are graceful for forbidding another lore restart.

Be it as it may I cannot wait for this, it will be such a wonderful refresh to the server.
