Summoning voidwalkers.

I am a level 12 Undead Warlock. I tried to do the Summon Voidwalker quest, to attain my voidwalker, but every time I summoned it, the Guards ran over and killed it! I'm not able to finish this quest, or to be able to get my voidwalker skill. Can anyone help me?

In addition, I believe the trainer in the OOC Cavern may have the pet spells.
