Auchenai!

So. I've looked up everything I can find, which turns out to be very little. I know the Auchenai are a Draenic faction corrupted by void energy who occupy a burial ground known as Auchenai Crypts. They perform evil for teh ebulz. I don't know how they came into existence, or anything else. And all of my information might be false anyway! If anyone could shed any light on this situation they would have my thanks.

Quest information shows they were the morticians of the draenei culture for about as long as they existed. Auchenai itself is only about a thousand years old, I think. The place is a necropolis, in the usual non-Scourge meaning of the term. Part of their belief system is that they tend to the dead for their use in the prophesied Army of the Light. They also despise necromancy, despite their role as "death priests".

Actually, there's evidence of them nowadays practicing the Necromantic arts. I don't know if they used to be against it, or simply slid into corruption as time progressed?

That would be the corruption's doing, if it's "nowadays". That big guy outside collecting all the souls? Yeah.
