I dunno how they'd be able to shift if they were undead, since that requires quite a few physical shifts.
Then again, since you were from Arugal's place in Silverpine, you should be all wolf, all the time.

... But, the Lich King isn't Arthas anymore, so why do we still have to 'break from his control'?

It's all set in the Wrath Era.

It's a retroactive addition. Essentially, Cataclysm is positing that worgen and goblin DKs ALWAYS existed, they're just not playable until Cata (and likely just didn't have anything to do until Cata because neither side trusted them until they get their respective factions.)
Anyway, all Worgen DKs are dead. We're essentially disallowing living DKs with Cataclysm, so we're going with that. They should still be able to morph fine. Why? Magic. Don't ask silly questions, it's a fantasy world. Have you hugged an orc today?

I agree, being a dead DK shouldn't mean that you would lose your shape-shifting abilities, it would just mean..well your dead. :P

Well, Worgen DKs came from Shadowfang Keep, which was under the control of Archmage Arugal, who served the Lich King, therefore a Death Knight that came from there would be one of the original Worgen: The ones that came from the Nightmare Dimension, not Gilnean.
They would've all offered themselves up for DK-ification willingly, therefore they would be very much alive. A la Baron Rivendare. Lastly, there's no record in Lore as far as I know, of any Undead ever shapeshifting, beyond the use of Illusion. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Kel'thuzad would've magicked himself into a Human settlement and taken over it from the inside, no? (07-29-2011, 08:37 AM)Grakor456 Wrote: Anyway, all Worgen DKs are dead. The dialogue during the race-specific quest in the DK story very clearly says that the Worgen DKs are Gilnean. Also, Kel'thuzad is not a worgen, nor is he a Death Knight. Oh come now people... if we're going to discuse the -fantasy logic- of 'shapeshifting' and 'undeadism' we might as well start complaining about Druidism not following einstein's law of the conservation of mass... It's ~MAGIC~ let's leave it at that...
OH AND ONE MORE THING! This isn't even really a serious question, I'm just bringing it up for the lolz. MERLOCK DKS! ARE THEY OUT THERE SOMEWHERE?! *mergle gergle* With a hip, hip and a clippity clop He's out looking for a head to swap So don't try to figure out a plan You can't reason with a headless man ~Disney

Consider that the Gilnean shapeshifting ability is actually some kind of magical curse put on them by Arugal for his sick pleasure. The quest text posits that the character was from Pyrewood or another small Siverpine town, and was cursed and experimented on by Arugal but then escaped somehow, and after that got brutally killed by the Lich King's forces and raised as a Babby's First Death Machine to go die against the Scarlet Crusade.
