I haven't got the full idea of a special profile, if anyone could explain to me what it's for or what falls in the category of a special profile.
My thought is that it's a profile for things that aren't really common around Azeroth, for instance High Elves.
If someone would like to play a High Elf so he needs a special profile? Or is that already in the section of prestige.
If anyone could clear it up for me it'd be great!

I believe this should help you out. :>
But High Elves are not allowed to be played at all.

And why not if I may ask? There could be one or two that still consider them high elves, no?

There are High Elves in the world, they are mostly Allied with humans, but we are not aloud to play them. Rules are rules after all.

Seems reasonable...
But could I apply a special profile if I want to play a High Priest for instance? Or is that prestige?
Sorry for the questions if they're silly, but I'm just trying to understand the concept.
The wiki page didn't really clear my question up.

That sounds more along the lines of a prestige.
Special Profiles are more for RPing anyone with political powers, like guards and military personnel
The other thing they are used for are non playable races: Furbolgs, Demons, any sapient race that you couldn't normally play.

A High Priest is a High Divinist which is a prestige class.
High Elves simply aren't allowed to be played, rules are rules.
Special profiles are there for people who wish to play characters with a sort of political power such as Nobles.
