The hollow eyes of the shade stared at the corpse with dark malevolence. And soon it went around the vale, searching endlessly for the body parts and collecting them, wrapping them together in a dry leaf, then hovering motionlessly above the body.
Vigilant.
Invisible.
Unflinching.
