I recall abount half a year ago or so an idea similar to this was shot down almost instantly, but I'm happy to see the new GMs actually taking it into concideration, and may actually create it. As far as location, anywhere but Badlands is fine, since it's pretty specific in Lore there is only one non-temporary settlement in the entire area, that is unless we make Lore of it being a brand new, but undefended town.

We should do it.
We can have the ultimate fight ever.
Course, in the begining there will be many murders, but it'll stablise after a while.
Once Cata hits and all.

Well, if Alcaz is out of the question, then a wasteland would be the most fitting. Desolace, or the Shimmering Flats. Something like that. Just throwing suggestions up. I don't have time to go in game and snoop around.

Silithus possibly. Blasted Lands or Badlands.

I was hoping for somewhere swamp-ish, so it's all dark and grimy. Kinda' have that old New Orleans feel of a scary voodoo town, only without the voodoo. Being soggy is always a surefire way to being grumpy. Not too into it being in an arid land, like badlands or the barrens, but with something like this I'll take what I can get.
Being close to a water source is always essential for any town or settlement. A port or something would be a fun idea.
So take that for what it's worth in the grand scheme of placement. Also, we need a naming contest for the town, once we know where it's going to be.
Aanya Ambersong- The conflicted Soldier of Fortune.
Julianah Graven- The fanatically self righteous Zealot of The Light.
Shaavi- The Fighter who is willing to test her mettle against everyone, and everything.

I support the idea of a swampy town 100%, this is a terrain that does not get near enough attention, which is a shame because of how gloomy and mysterious it can be.

I agree with Jeff plus it makes a great place for trolls and orcs to RP and good for marsh guilds too

Swamp of Sorrows seems pretty good, especially considering it's local Goblin Residency and mix of close Alliance/Horde regions. Also, after I read Inhibitor's idea on a swampy area, I just decided it was a much better idea than what I had. : 3
I actually know an ideal place for it. I could mark it up on a map sometime, just as a suggestion. Bit busy at the moment. I'm good at that.

Swamps of Sorrows sounds a bit too small. It only has Stonard and the Draenei outpost thing, and then an orc outpost by the sea and some Broken and bleh. Perhaps Dustwallow would indeed be ideal.

Dustwallow does sound like a good place but Swamp of Sorrows could still be used for smaller things like a village or two not exactly a city

Yes, I think what we're looking for is more of a thrown together shanty. Nothing catacombs size. Not even Shatterspear size - smaller by a bit, at least.
But you have a point. Dustwallow has a better placement, and a better reputation. People don't want to go in there. We could go for a Louisiana swamp village theme, with boardwalks and tiny huts. Heh. I like it.

I am 100% for this idea, I really hope it happens. A swampy lawless town would be amazing!
