The Perfect Garden

So, after having spent pretty much all of April doing yard-work, I've been inspired. Since Clovis is the son of a Herbalist/Farmer and Alchemist, and since he's pretty much stuck in Westguard Keep with the Lionhearts, I want him to keep and maintain an Herb and Flower Garden. A little hobby on the side, and perhaps, a little chance for pocket change. With that, I have a few questions:

1: How much would seeds for certain herbs cost? Where would they be bought? What would the rarity of them be?
2: How long would it take for the plants to grow IC, in real time?
3: Would Clovis be allowed to maintain a small garden outside the Inn or at another location of the Keep? (Let's say...12 feet by 6 feet?)
4: Economy Concern: What would the value of grown herbs and flowers be?
5: What flower is most appropriate to plant in memoriam of a lost family member?
6: What herbs are considered common, uncommon, and rare?
