Was browsing for troll lore online and found this. What do you all think? If you get an error I'll post the relevant parts here myself.

That's actually because blizzard bases troll's religion off of Haitian Vodoun, which is a branch of South African Vodoun. The main shadow hunter loa are all identical to the 'real' loa of voodoo, and the witch doctor class is identical to Bokor, which are the witch doctors who dabble in black magic.
Both have a brew they can make which controls a person's mind.

I love Haitian religion, and I love the way trolls look, so I give kudos to blizzard for mixing the two so well.

Well since both haitian and Louisiana voodoo got their roots from Africa that is not so surprising.
And as I said to Marmariss; The system he has made on this site if based on that lwa come in families sometimes, lesser but more specific spirits. Like example all lwa with the name Dambala are snakes and serpents with magical skills, but the one lwa named only Dambala is their leader or progenitor.
What has been done here is that he has taken know or common families of spirit, or rather their theme and crossed that over with each known -jungle- lwa and produced how that sub-spirit should be and also dropped names that fit on those from real lwa aswell as such that have been mentioned in lore. The big difference is that in this they are thought of as aspects of one lwa instead of individual ones.
Ogoun is a good example of this. He has been named a lwa in his own right, not the aspect of one. And both Hakkar and Ula'tek are more powerful than lwa (so it seems at least) and are -never- called loa in game or lore.

Interesting, but it's not complete nor completely true.
For instance a couple of Loa like Samedi and Shango aren't mentioned.
Also the hierarchy is to be doubtful, I wouldn't consider Hakkar a an aspect of Hethiss, since Hakkar is an enemy of all the loa and also the most powerfull, Nor would Mueh'zala be an aspect of Hir'eek
This thing still needs some editing.

In short it is interesting speculation that could be taken as individual belief. But it would not fit with what little troll and loa lore we are given in the games, books and RPGs.
