Doing Damage: A Quick Reference Guide

Not having any medical background I'm usually left guessing at how long it would take to die from various injuries. I'm sure my guesses are quite inaccurate. Im looking forward to using this as a reference! It would be nice if this included the time it takes to die from the following common injuries (below).

Suffocation/Drowning: 4 minutes for human ?
Strangulation:
Infection:
Untreated broken bone:
Bleeding to death via open puncture wound ( by area/organ effected )
Bleeding to death via severed limb ( ie. finger, hand, forearm, shoulder, knee )
Bleeding to death (internal bleeding) ie. if crushed or bludgeoned.
Burning: ( ie. tied to a stake with fire around feet, roasted slowly over fire on a spit )
Freezing: What does it take to freeze to death ? ( Freezing into a block of ice and getting thawed out by sunlight seems unrealistic - not sure if its rp'd like this in game or not )

I don't know if you plan on putting in this info into an in-character book or not, but I think this would be terrific material for the journal for say a cruel experimenter, or a healer for that matter.

Oh, I didn't mean as a reference for this -- rather, I used it as a guide for a character of mine who was disguising themselves.

I'll see what I can do, certainly. I'll place my replies in the second post in the thread. To be honest, I'm no doctor. For the most part, I built this guide and play my doctor character, Mansfield, basing my actions on various medical reference guides.

Some of the various things you listed can have multiple answers, such as infection. Cholera can kill in less than 24 hours, while a cold or the 'flu will take several days in most cases (if they kill at all).

That makes more sense than you using a disguise guide in a damage guide, yes.
