So my brother bought Minecraft for the Xbox, and strangely enough I have been the only one playing it. So I was wondering if anyone else has it and wants to play, because it gets very lonely especially with the music that plays!

I've been thinking about getting it, since I have a friend who really wants to play it with me, but his PC can't handle it. Since the 360 version apparently has splitscreen, I was thinking about getting it.

It has up to 4 person split screen and the online multiplayer is much easier than having to use servers on the computer. The only problem is maps are limited, though still rather large, and the game version is Beta 1.6.6 I believe. They said they would be updating it though.

Of course they will. Notch just happens to be the best freaking game developer in the world.I'm not sure how the maps work, though. I mean, you can't host a server with a permanent map no more. So I'm guessing the only way you can play online is to join another player's generated map.

Yep. But as far as I can tell it saves you to the map so every time they invite you to the game again you will start where you left off.
And unfortunately Notch is no longer the lead designer of Minecraft.

Hahahaha no. Notch doesn't even work on Minecraft anymore. He forked all development over to Jeb now, whose been working on MC since 1.0.

Best game developer in the world, in my mind, is Toadyone that made/still makes Dwarf fortress. He's a mathematical genius that's brilliant with coding, and is able to create some of the most impressive artificial intelligence that's ever been in any game. Notch, has come of to me to be -very- ignorant at times, especially with how he handles business or even OTHER businesses. Like, when Bethesda sued him. While some of the things he did were "Funny" at first, in the long run it just made him look very childish and irresponsible.
He's a very -lucky- dev, I will say that. He's lucky that he's the indy dev that's now set a bar for other indy devs, one that some people are now meeting.
As for the x-box version? I haven't gone to it for simply one reason----no custom map skins. The normal skins for items and blocks in minecraft are super ugly.

I never used texture mods anyways. The game is supposed to be cartoony and badly made. That's the point of it all. At least that's what I think.

Minecraft's vanilla graphics aren't cartoony or retro, they're just crummy.
