I'm running 3.0.9, correct realm list, purged cache, but I'm still getting the validation problem. Will installing WotLK fix this, or what else could I be doing wrong?

Kretol is in the process of upgrading the server, not only you bud! :) Do not patch up yet though, watch the news feed and if Kretol gives the go ahead then we all download the patch. :D
