Kind of late with this but lately I picked up a few games and among them was Gone Home. It was a really nice game but it made me nostalgic as a "period piece" that tried to emulate a home in 1995.
There were a lot of details in it that really threw me back to my childhood like the Lisa Frank folders, the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling, the SNES and all that. They also had a ton of VHS tapes and movie tickets for things like Pulp Fiction and the X-Files. There's actually a lot of attention to detail.
There's also a lot of note passing around, which is a thing I did with my friend. We wrote back and forth as a proto "text-messaging" sort of deal. I really miss those days now. Did anyone else try and enjoy this game? It's short but I highly recommend it. I also think it's a very good way to unwind. I'm not going to give any spoilers but I thought things were going to go much worse than they actually did.
