Old wife’s fables...

...tell of the men and women of the Church who travel the mortal kingdoms on a quest to cleanse the wicked and the traitorous through fire. No village is without secrets, no town is without heretical thoughts and many of our children have burnt as witches and warlocks.

According to some stories the Inquisition was formed by Alonsus Faol himself, shortly after having been raised to the title of archbishop. Agents of the Church to root out resistance within, for the greater good of the people.

It’s exceedingly rare to meet those who claim to have crossed paths with an inquisitor but the very few who do say they acknowledge themselves with a silverseal. Many odd events are credited to their presence, for example a black cross daubed on a door is supposed to be a warning left by the Inquisition.

Knowledge without wisdom in the hands of a feeble mind can prove the downfall of a kingdom. It becomes the duty of the strong hearted to keep these secrets, even at the cost of the purity of their souls.

The Inquisitor...

...has a personal contact within the Church of the Holy Light which present new tasks for the inquisitor but is also the source of funds and payment for him and his followers. These are chosen at the inquisitors own accord and sworn to fealty towards him, not the Church.

Each inquisitor is given a truesilver rosette as proof of their station.

The Manifesto

• Redeem those who have not yet fallen.
  
• Allow not heresy nor corruption to touch the innocent.
  
• Suffer not the heretic or the abomination to live.
  
• A suspected heretic may only be brought to torture once.
  
• Torture may not shed blood, mutilate, kill or induce labour.
  

Hearthglen Monastery...

...is once again in the hands of true faithful, since the Scarlet Crusade left Lordaeron. Members of the Argent Crusade have begun rebuilding the town but the rather intact Monastery is open to all. It is not unlikely that an inquisitor or his followers would find refuge there.



Retinue: the Anvil

The Witch Hunter - Dwarven inquisitors are scant, yet Pelinal is the second generation dedicated to purging the wicked. Armed with knowledge collected through years of facing the darkness, he leads the retinue named The Anvil.
Sanctioned Death Knight - Thrice knighted, eternally fighting for what's right. He lends his sword and steed as a symbol that even in light, a shadow is cast.

I am sad to say that Witch Hunt will be put on hold. In all honesty it never came around due to timezones, school and connection issues. At this point I cannot say if I will give it another try or not, some events are planned so I might.

Oh, this is even pre-Skirrow stuff! But yes, I do remember this storyline and the plans are collecting figurative dust in my Google Drive at the moment. But I can't make promises of when it will happen. Currently my one obligation on CotH is to finalize the Draenic Pilgrimage.
