Just so folks are aware, I've ordered a new processor, motherboard, case, RAM, and a cheap DVD drive (the one that was in the previous case barely worked). It's currently in the 'packaging' stage at Newegg; hopefully it'll arrive by Monday!

I believe that the motherboard would report a broken CPU through some beep code; thus my bet is motherboard.

Anyway, I hope it can be fixed soonish.. don't send me to RL for a 4-day-weekend end of next week! *runs around in panic*

It may be throttling kicking in on the CPU -before- POST, however. Sometimes that just... happens. However it does sound a lot like the motherboard, as it's rare for a CPU to throttle that quick without throwing up some beeps in there.
