Bear in mind that when you fight Yogg-Saron, you're fighting his mouth (and later on, his brain).

Most of him is still trapped beneath Ulduar throughout the battle.

And if one thinks that to be big, then remember that you only fight C'Thun's eye, the rest of him being Gods-know-where.
