Twightlight was about sexy twinkling vampiers, not werewolves, n00b. Wherewolves are the new awesome.

Personally, if I get a chance to Re-roll Rensin... he'd be a Worgen.
Get your Twilight facts straight!
Spoiler:
The Indian guy in the first movie turns out to be a Werewolf, that's why the have that whole wolf loving montage thing in the movie where they go all traditional. GOSH!
I know, right? Like, ohmiGAWWWD! Did you even -read- the books?

...

... Uh.

Because I didn't. I swear to God. D:

But yeah, on a more serious note, Worgen are indeed likely to attract more and more fanboys from other franchises for obvious reasons, or just release the inner Twilight-fueled retard in people already playing. I foresee the concept of an angsty but savage (and generally shallow and characterless, of course...) Worgen overtaking happy-go-lucky tinker Gnomes and Warhammer ripoff Orcs as WoW's biggest roleplaying stereotypes.
The issue I have with Worgen not being able to transform is that it's ripping away a very interesting piece of lore. It is hinted at that Gilneas was turned to Worgen by Archmage Arugal's "experimentation" -- the same way that Pyrewood's villagers were afflicted with the curse.

Pyrewood's villagers are human in the daytime, but at night, they change.
Which is why my idea for a character if/when we use Cataclysm [which I don't mind people using] is rather simple. Keep them permanently Worgen, but allow to drink a potion/elixer/magical doodad thing to give them a few minutes of 'humanity' or something.

I'm still working on the negative effects, but I kinda maybe like the idea.
I would hope to RP it that the "cure" allows for a use of the Worgen form through self-control on normal occasions, but there are times when they revert to the bestial fury of a standard Worgen. In times of stress, maybe phases of the moon, they just get uncontrollable and can't tell friend from foe.

Granted that's probably not how it works. I expect Blizz to make them a little fluffier and all, but that's the standard "Well I guess we're Werewolves now" idea.

That is how I would RP a Worgen.
Worgen........ playable.... worgen...?

*falls over dead, then somehow comes back to life* I SHALL LOVE BLIZZARD FOR ALL TIME BECAUSE OF THIS.......DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT MAKES THEIR OWN LORE EVEN MORE CONFUSING!!! *breaths heavily, falls over unconscious*

Anyways, Im a obsessed person about wolves.... and werewolves. To have a playable wolfish-humanish race, is AWESOME!!! Though I am pissed at blizzard for the lore confusion. It used to be so great.... now its just a big jumble of ideas sewn together into a strange new creation that can't be called lore... I feel sick *barfs*

Anyways, Goblins.... *shrugs* Don't care hugely. Worgen, I big time care. *evil dramatic music plays*

Oh and by the way, Heya everyone!
They didn't **** with their lore. They just expanded it bigtime. I agree it is al a bit to much but everything seems right to me...
I did some looking around, on contrary (spelling) to the cure rp, the starting zone actually starts as you being a Worgen chained down, and force fed some kind of cure by some people. You are then made in to a human and can switch from the different modes at will. In other words you still have the curse, but it is controlled.
And the Goblins your escaping from the Lost Isle's Cataclysm effects, and you spawn on a raft with some refugees, KOed, then blah blah blah, to make it shorter, your rescued by the Horde.
The only point in WoW where you'll be "forced" to be in Worgen form is when you enter battle, otherwise you could walk around as a human for the rest of the time.

I just wonder if CoTH is gonna have any special policy regarding Worgen? Are you gonna be made to stay in Worgen form all the time or are you gonna follow the lore that Blizzard is making for them and allow them to be human at will. (expect for in battle where you automaticly go into Worgen form.)
Blizzard has announced you can go from human to Worgen at will.
Not sure if you aimed that post at me or not. Anyway, if it was then take a look at this.
