This new expansion pack makes me cry many tears of rage and blood.
Worgen and Goblin Deathknights would be odd, same for Night Elf mages, the rest makes enough sense.
When I read about the content for Cataclysm today, the only thing I could elicit was a malaise "meh" at best.
Goblins being part of the Horde came as no surprise; but I believe their iteration is too little, too late. They should have had placement with the Horde long before Blood Elves ever came to fruition. The Worgen are outright silly. Much like the Draenei; I'm uncertain what creative 'liberties' are taken in regards to Alliance, but they get the most nonsensical and convoluted races of them all. However, the Worgen lore isn't quite as stupid as Draenei lore, as it actually maintains cohesion with things in Azeroth, namely the Greymane wall.

The concept of a sundered, shattered Azeroth highly intrigues me.
As for the other things, such as "any race, any class", just speaks further of retcon; and an even greater broadening of content in order to pander to the lowest common denominator to maintain relevance and profit margins. I suppose if this is what keeps funding for Starcraft 2 afloat, I'll advocate that; despite the sheer vitriol that has been coming from the Activision camp as of recent.

On the upside, Draenei warlocks and Blood Elven warriors fill me with a very un-profound sense of glee.

Huh? There will be no Draenei Warlocks?

This. It's not EVERY race and EVERY class, there are just a few new ones, some of which do make sense, and... Most of them don't, but still.
I stand corrected, then. I drew assumptions from the implication that it would be any race/any class.
My previous "meh" statement still stands.

... Good sides to everything! Hah!
Spoiler:
Blood Elf Warrior = Fine
Here's when I disagree, as Belves are all about mana and magic addiction.
So I was reading this, and I'm wondering.. Are Blood Elf warriors absurd?

Less absurd than Night Elf Mages and Worgen DKs. Blood Elf Warriors aren't very high up on the problems of Cataclysm.
It'd be no less absurd than a Blood Knight. Or a Hunter for that matter. Atleast in my opinion.
Someone saying they're absurd is just stupid and should just.. <insert comment too violent to say here>. Blood Elves may be about magic and mana and all, but Blood Knights, while they use magic, they still do things that involve physical strength. Plate armor and big weapons? Come on. Same goes for Hunters. They carry big weapons, etc. And they don't even USE mana ICly. AND they're getting rid of it in Cataclysm anyway. Also, Blood Elves have those bong-like things that I'm pretty sure give like a hit of mana or something. So that shows they don't need to run around casting spells in order to sate their addiction. It just may take a bit more to do so.
I think the bong is just a bong, but I'm pretty sure those crystals that float around are filled with fel energy that the Elves are all welcome to tap and get their fix.
On the subject of worgen, I am happy that our GM's are not allowing worgen to shift forms ICly. But I have my concerns about worgen and the roleplay around them.

Worgen should not really be "nice" hell the worgen you play are from Gilneas. The people of Gilneas are not nice people.
Should Worgen be allowed in human/dwarven cities? I wouldnt believe they would be, to many others besides the night elves the worgen are abberant horrors that are feral wolf-men.
Etc
Etc
I believe they would be allowed in cities because no one gives a crap about racial tensions or any of that when the world is about to end.
I would believe racial tensions could heighten. Not trusting each other; fighting for resources, survival. In many Alliance members eyes the worgen are the lowest on the priority for survival. Humans of course would put themselves way up on the front end of "we deserve to live."
