Depending how much time this takes after WOTLK, I have a feeling our favorite Tauren Hunter is going to be very developed after all that time. Maybe this expansion won't be so bad... :?
Worgen is all BS man, serious.
Eh, I either don't find it so bad, or my mind chooses to remain blissfully apathetic on the bad parts of the Expansion. This is possibly because I find the whole Cataclysm itself so bloody awesome.
When I saw the trailer... Suddenly the expansion seems awesome. Maybe Blizzard has scary ways of changing someone's mind... Creeeepy ways...
I'm all for nay-saying, but if you're going to, include some reasons at least. :|

So far, I think the Worgen will become a nice addition in time. Sure, they would have been better neutral, but -that- would have been fan service above the rest. :P

Ahh, and it turns out there will be a Cataclysm novel written by Christie Golden. Author of Rise of the Horde, Lord of the Clans, and Rise of the Lich King. I look forward to it. Christie is much better than Knaak, so.
Needless to say, I may experiment with characters of all sorts with this new Expansion - If we patch up, that is. I'm a Werewolf kinda guy, so the Worgen are a bit more than interesting to me. I've just never been the kind of person to look at something in WoW and think, "God, they were so stupid for putting that in there that way."
Oh, Gob stuff.

Quote:The playable Goblins won't be formally associated with any of the neutral Goblin trading organizations we already know and love (figuratively speaking, of course; the Steamwheedle Cartel's been bilking us for years). There's also no mention so far of the other Goblins going anywhere, so I'm assuming that the game's preexisting Goblins will remain in the game in whatever capacity they can post-cataclysm, and the Horde Goblins are a faction unto themselves named the Bilgewater Cartel.
I'm sort of hoping the older races get a texture update, since Worgen will have a third expansion quality detail, but Forsaken and everything will still be five years behind.

Haha we were having this exact conversation earlier in Chat. I figured it would be Knaack actually because he's always involved in anything to do with Deathwing, but I'm much happier with Christie Golden writing it.

QFT. If we still have ugly-ass Humans and Forsaken it's going to look ridiculous.
Quote:Q: Will there be any updates to the graphics and changes to the minimum system requirements?
A: Yes, there will be incremental tweaks and updates to the graphics engine in this expansion. For example, we've made improvements to the way that water is rendered. We'll announce the exact system requirements closer to the expansion's release.

They're making Graphics tweaks and changing the System Requirements, so I'd take that as default models/textures are being re-hauled.
YEESSS!! My prayers have been answered.
They should kill Blizzard for releasing a Tauren Paladin.
Hawk! SLAPINTHEFAICE* them!

So, I just caught up.

Sometimes, I really, really have to wonder how Chris Metzen feels about his job, knowing that he had/has to find ways to justify all of this stuff.

Goblins and Worgens I saw coming. Me and a friend have been betting on that since the first expansion was announced. Worgen I could get into (It's about damned time there was a race on the alliance that couldn't be considered pretty boys/girls). Goblins... I honestly don't know. Horde only? I'm not so happy with it, but they've done if before, and I wouldn't put it past them do it again, given the right motivation.

The class combinations. That's what's really getting me. Oh ye heavens above, the class combinations. ><

Don't get me wrong - some of them I love. But some of them I don't:

(Taken from WoWWiki)

gnome priests: I just don't understand this one. Did the gnomes suddenly flock to the light? I mean, people go to religon in terms of fear, but this much?

night elf mages: Unbelievable. Un-be-freaking-leavable. This is one of the ones that just makes my brain hurt. Blizzard, how long has it been that you've so forcefully stated that NE's are against arcane magic? ...Oy.

human hunters: Sure, why not? Makes plenty of sense to me...

dwarf mages: Ought to have been there from the start, in my book (and were, in Beta, I heard...)

dwarf shamans: Seems sound. I always thought this would have happen in TBC, to be honest, ever since they announced Shammies for the alliance.

blood elf warriors: I'm a bit sorry to see this happen (just because I thought the no-warrior BE was funny,) but it makes sense.

troll druids: ...How am I supposed to feel, here? Trolls hold a special place in my heart, and as much as I love them, I have to wonder how well they'd really fit into the Circle.

tauren priests: Reasonable, moving on...

tauren paladins: This one got me. In fact, it was Mike's comment that sent me rushing out to look this up. Seriously, Blizzard? Seriously? ...Why. Nevermind that - How. I want to hear you excuse this one. This just sounds like a horrible lore mix-up (or just a straight-out appeal to the crowd who'll go "Sweet. Paladin+Warstomp!") to me.

orc mages: ...I guess? Pretty neutral, although it could be interesting.

undead hunters: ....That's... Fine, but are you sure you didn't want to... Maybe... Put paladins here? Maybe? I realize this would create other lore problems, but at least here you've got the relationship to the blood elves to work with. Or something.

For me, all this means is that I'm really, really, really glad I'm playing here, on CotH, were there will be lore "damage control" rather than on the mixed-up fairy-tale blizz is producing. ^_^;

You've got to be fething kidding me. I will never acknowledge a Tauren Paladin. Rogue, maybe... but a PALADIN? C'mon, they don't even worship anything -close- to the light.
