Right, so me and Mickey were doing Dire Maul and we ended up running across the Athenaeum. While the mobs are bugged, and can only attack you if you attack them first with a certain quest item, we figured It'd be perhaps a nice addition for a mage hangout.
http://www.wowpedia.org/The_Athenaeum
It features book cases, tables with alchemist stuff on them, fire braziers, banners hanging around of the Highborne, pots, a big.. thing that's supposed to represent Azeroth. Sort of a globe. (Honestly have no clue what they are called, I know there is one in Ironforge as well. Hall of the explorers. ) and a hanging fossil of a dragon. It's basically a library, I can only imagine a need for chairs, but that's about it.
I doubt Dire maul gets done frequently, more then half of the instance is rather buggy including the key requirement on the doors apparently. (We just did it, neither of us had the key)
So perhaps this is a nice RP spot to add to the WSG portal? If the Highborne are a problem, I'm sure you guys could throw them out and empty the area or so. Anyway, it's nice to look into if you have the time
Thanks!
Edit: Perhaps good to know, that it IS inside a instance. So if you decide to run out and explore, there are hostile mobs around. Level 59. ^^
Spoiler:
The Athenaeum is an area of Dire Maul West. It is located beyond the Prison of Immol'thar and leads on into Dire Maul North. One can access this area through either Dire Maul north or Dire Maul west, but both require the Crescent Key.
The Athenaeum is also known as the library, where the Shen'dralar remain in seclusion, storing lost knowledge in the multitude of shelves in the large room. This is where players turn in Librams to receive the enchants they provide. This is done by talking to Lorekeeper Lydros after completing the Neutral [60] Elven Legends quest.
Many highborne NPCs are located here, some, like Lorekeeper Mykos, Lorekeeper Kildrath and Lorekeeper Javon merely providing flavour, but some, like the Shen'dralar Provisioner, offering services. Prince Tortheldrin can also be found here, although he is not attackable until Immol'thar is dead. Beware, the prince is a lot tougher than he looks.
