We need more people to make goods and offer services so we can offer a variety of jobs to really get this thing going.
So far I have:
- Lexi offering work for miners, smithies, crafters, engineers, and mercenaries.
But another idea I have:
- Nexariel running her own apothecary, offering jobs to herbalists and alchemists. Of course, she'd need people to transport the stuff, so that opens up work for courier chars and even mercenaries for the courier's and herbalist's protection.
I could make gathering and crafting items with GHI, if you'd like. All you have to do is ask.
Arrr me mateys
Is the gold plan a good catch?
... Are people using these? :3
People could hire themselves out as Mercs and snuff... I know of some Deadie-Rogue that charges [ really high sums.] for killing people.
does this mean, if you for example want to set up a bakery a GM will make one for you?

I am pretty sure that a GM will not build you a bakery.
Actually, 99.9%.
You may bake and sell your products in already ready, NPC-free houses. I believe.
That was just an example, but some businesses do require a main house,
Like perhaps a bookstore? I mean it would be fun if there would be some editing in specific cities, to make more stores, so everyone can have a nice shopping feeling icly
Takes booty bay for example, its a great location to put shops down, it is a harbor city afterall, could use some life from signs and shouting people from their market, its just a suggestion to make a real living city

In ultima online they use houses as a money drain..since this system is to promote rp...maybe making houses kinda like UO style that are paid with by this IC currency would entice people to participate...A nice money drain and a nice IC reward.
edit- stores are a UO forte too. could be bought with IC money and generate a small sum oc ic money a day to simulate npcs buying from the store?

I agree, it would encourage people a lot!
Come to think about it, you know how some items are bought with emblems? You could possibly convert the IC currency into a sort of emblem, making vendors that exchange goods for the IC currency.
exactly!

One thing about the houses however are... they cost a mega-tonfwachin amount of gold..
About a thousand I believe...
Thats in UO, and thats just because of how easy it was to get gold. It doesn't have to be the same here. Wondering though...Would you rent to own w/ property tax after ownership, or if you would just permanently pay rent....If it was implemented.
I'm up for running a store in booty bay ^^ gehehe, but starting a business without a house is like driving a car without wheels

It's seen many times, that if the GMs start building custom things;
- It lags the server. Hard.
- They become unused in about a week or so
- It's hard, takes a lot of skill and time
- In the end, it's not worth the time.
My opinion. And, some taken of the GM commentary of similar ideas.
We can just play pretend and act like there's a shop or stand that our character is making, right? Not everything is dependent on props.
